Includes definition of scope, analysis, identifying areas of improvement, investigation of current market providers, design, budgeting considerations, validation of assumptions, logistics, pilots, final implementations as well as a post-implementation review and lessons learned.

 

 

Usage Policy Presentation Summary: 

This Word document, converted and posted on the Intranet, was created to provide DCS employees with an overview regarding the policy on Electronic Communication Usage and Security.

It was later used by Human Resources as a required signoff document during initial hiring procedures and became a permanent record in the employees' folder for future reference.

Note: If you are working on your own Usage Policy you may use this as a template.  Do a copy starting at "1." then paste this into Word; replace "Dependable Component Supply, Inc" with your organizations name.  You can then modify it to your own requirements and publish this to your Intranet.  (The DCS logo and Watermark "dcs@work" will not be included)

 

 

Network Topology Presentation Summary: 

These VISIO maps were  created to provide views of the DCS network topology both before and after rebuild.

Included is "Pan and Zoom" (to navigate) as well as a "Search" function to quickly find specific entities by keyword (example: Microsoft or IBM).

 

 

Site Survey Presentation Summary: 

This document was created to provide clients with a checklist for review on their core infrastructure and is a component of the "Organizational Infrastructure Deployment Plan" sample project plan.

The focus here is to provide management awareness of the existing hardware and software assets so as to maximize their investments.  It also will assist in identifying both equipment available for upgrade and  redeployment as well as to itemize those components that have lived past their useful life for elimination.

 

System Review Presentation Summary: 

This PowerPoint presentation was created to provide a general overview after "Phase 1" (of 3) during the rebuild of the DCS Network and Communication Infrastructure.

Included is review of the system framework, desktop replacements, new productivity tools, backup and restoration.  We also discuss security "DO's and DON'Ts", common support issues and future initiatives.

Note: Although the technologies represented here are "dated" by today's standards the major concepts of employee education regarding personal use, security and standardization still apply.

 

 

EDI Presentation Summary: 

This electronics distributor received a mandate by a major customer to implement electronic communications via EDI. 

A PowerPoint presentation was created to provide a Management Overview on EDI, specific terminology, implementation, business impact and general processes and procedures.  Also discussed is a  Basic Cost Analysis as well as future XML opportunities.
